Cohort #3 Successfully Complete 4-week training

HONOLULU, HI. The Pacific Desk congratulate Cohort #3’s Anthony Kalai (PNG), Charlie Vulum (PNG) and Seru Kolinio (Fiji) for completing the Pacific Desk On-Site Training Program.  Cohort #3 started 15 September through 10 October 2014.  The On-Site Training Program (OSTP) offers training in the forecast process; fundamental variables and skills required for forecasting; basic hands-on work with meteorological analysis and predictions; and communication systems.  The Pacific Desk is intended as an early step in initial forecasting training and preparing trainees for lengthier and more advanced training programs.  The OSTP prepares trainees to return to their home country for further operational forecasting experience.
