March 21 – 23, 2023 – Honolulu, HI. – Victoria Salinas, Deputy Administrator of FEMA attended the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) semi-annual meeting, hosted by the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center and had a chance to visit the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus to listen to presentations by planning students, Kevin White (Wildfire), Farnaz Kaviari (Agent-Based Modeling), Ginger Porter (RANET/Disaster Coms), professors Karl Kim, Suwan Shen (Resilience Hubs), and researchers Norman Okamura and Christina Higa (UH TASI). Also, brought in through teleconferencing were Tafaimamao “Tafa’’ Tupuola, Director of American Samoa University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disability, American Samoa Community College, Bruce Best, Station Manager at the University of Guam Telecommunication and Distance Education Operation, and David Hitzl, Guam Instructor of the Pacific International Training Desk.
